How do we start a new catalog project?
The easy answer is, just give us a call, or send us e-mail. Essentially,
we'll need to sort out the purpose and intended uses of the Catalog
or Brochure, available preexisting content versus new needs, budget,
and timing. It's easier than you think, and we're ready to go when
you are. If you already have a catalog then we can use that as a
basis for discussing changes you'd like to see. We have an excellent
library of templates to help everyone through the project, from
ideas and themes, to completion.
How much does a Catalog Cost?
Each project differs in objectives and complexity. For budgetary
purposes, you can seek a quote for your project. The resulting estimate
will consider several categories of costs that comprise a catalog
project. The project size and scope, usually measured by page count
and complexity. The cost to produce added content such as: photos,
text, graphics, video, audio, and layout. Finally, the intended
uses, such as Print, Web, or CD-ROM will mean something in the final
price because of the added complexity and testing involved. A recent
200-page html catalog, delivered as a tested "Master"
around $80.00 a page. While the catalog was, what we consider complicated,
the customer provided great content that kept the cost down. We
produced the catalog in print, CD, and Web ready form. The customer
took ownership of jewel case, duplication, fulfillment arrangements,
and mailing costs.
Can you convert a printable catalog to
CD or Web?
Yes. We are able to take Acrobat PDF versions of your catalog or
documents and repurpose them to gorgeous html catalogs suitable
for use on a CD or Web Site. We use proprietary methods to perform
these changes in a short turnaround time for even the largest of
catalogs, usually no more than a week.
How long does it take to make a catalog?
A catalog project can take anywhere from one, to several weeks,
depending mainly on content availability, customer design decision
lead time, and the overall size of the finished project. Other often-overlooked
items include: photographs, graphic art, testing, proofing, and
duplication.
What is a digital catalog?
A digital catalog is one or more documents or programs consisting
of combinations of pictures, text, audio, video, animation, and
navigation assembled satisfactorily to present products, services,
and information. Presentation is by CD-ROM, DVD, E-mail, or the
Internet. Often, a digital catalog is searchable and smart in that
it promotes a nonlinear browsing experience and even updates itself.
Many times the finished catalog must integrate with one or more
"back-end" business software applications to enable customer
transactions or to check inventory levels.
